Perry School Board

This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, though the Perry School District takes a more all-encompassing approach.

Superintendent Lynn Ubben explains, “We like to say ‘Staff Appreciation,’ because we appreciate all our staff in the field of education. Of course you can’t have a separate bus driver day and nurse day, so we appreciate all our staff. And we do it year round, but they’ve been doing some fun things. I know some of the kids have been writing notes to their teachers. You know, it doesn’t have to be anything big, just a little extra appreciation.”

Teacher Appreciation Week has been observed every May since 1984, with the goal of honoring those who lend their passion and skill to educating America’s youth.
