The crown jewel of the Perry Fourth of July celebration is the public-funded fireworks display. At their most recent meeting, the Perry City Council made sure the display would be allowed at this year’s event.

J and M Displays out of Yarmouth, Iowa has provided the fireworks for Perry’s Fourth of July celebration for many years. However, in order to show them this year they once again needed to get a fireworks permit from the City. The Council was complimentary of the displays J and M has done over the years and unanimously approved the permit.

This year’s display will feature approximately $13,000-worth of fireworks, which were funded completely by donations from the citizens of Perry.
