Last night the latest Bill Riley Talent Show graced the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School stage with style and range. The two divisions featured twelve acts from around central Iowa.

The Sprout Division, ages 2-12, included 5 starlets in dance, piano, and singing. Lillian Dong of Perry took first with her piano solo. Dancer Brook Pliler placed second, and pianist Lucy Gannon of West Des Moines took third.

The Senior Division spotlighted seven talented acts. The top three spots were separated by just half a point. Johnston’s Megan Gilbreath wowed the crowd with her stage presence and vocal talents, winning the division. Mercedes Frisby of Altoona and Bailey Miller of Gowrie took second and third place respectively with their dance routines.

Each winner received $50 and qualifies for the 2018 Bill Riley competition at the Iowa State Fair. Gilbreath reached the semifinals of 2017’s competition and has thus already qualified for 2018. Frisby received the competition’s qualifying bid.
