The West Central Valley Lady Wildcats are still looking for their first set and match wins of the season. That search will continue as their efforts came up short against ACGC, falling to the Lady Chargers 14-25, 16-25, 14-25.
Sophomores Sydney Neal and Jenna Merical lead the way with solid performances. Neal finished with 2 digs, a kill, and a block. Merical ended the night with 3 kills and an ace.
West Central Valley struggled all night against ACGC’s power and movement, but were competitive in the early stages of every set. However, several double contact calls killed the momentum. Junior Abigail Speichinger spent minutes talking with the ref about those calls after the first set.
The Lady Wildcats struggled to return the Lady Chargers’ serves, giving up 27 aces to ACGC. Mady Smith led the way for the Lady Chargers, with a balanced performance of four kills, five assists, six digs, two blocks, and four aces.
The Lady Wildcats continue their road trip on Thursday against the I-35 Lady Roadrunners in Truro.
