Greene County High School cross-country Coach Jeff Lamoureux says his teams made progress at the Sept. 21 Roland-Story Norsemen Invitational at Story City, and he’s hoping for more good things tomorrow at the Leon Fox Invitational north of Perry at the Perry Country Club. Several runners for Greene County ran personal or season best times for the five kilometers (3.1 miles) at the R-S meet, despite very warm and windy conditions.

“We’re making progress. We’re heading in the right direction and the kids are working hard. Times are coming down for the most part, but not everybody’s where they need to be, or want to be, personally, according to the goals they’ve set. But we’re heading in the right direction for both boys and girls.

Perry’s meet is a large one with middle school and high school races for girls and boys in various classes. Starting time is 4:30 p.m.
