There’s only a few days left to donate any books or board games to Greene County youth.
Greene County 4-H’ers have once again teamed up with New Opportunities of Greene County for the second annual books and board games drive. Greene County Extension 4-H Coordinator Kayla Hyett encourages everyone to get involved.
“We are asking for new or gently used books and board games and they can be dropped off at the Extension office. Our drive starts during National 4-H Week and then it’ll go throughout the month of October.”
New Opportunities Coordinator Teresa Lansman says they use the donated items during Christmas time with the less fortunate families in the county.
“So that way some of the parents can take a look at them. That way they know what they’re getting and they might have a game that the kids absolutely love. This is just helping everybody utilize the extra quantity of items.”
Last year, over 400 items were collected. Donations can be made to the Extension office until the end of October.
