ADM Tigers

The first league road trip of the season will take the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers basketball teams to Huxley tonight. The Tigers boys and girls squads visit Ballard High School for a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader against the Bombers. Both ADM hoops teams are coming off a matchup against the Pella Christian Eagles Tuesday in Adel.

The ADM boys basketball team is off to a 1-0 start for the first time since the 2011-12 season with a 65-63 come from behind victory over Pella Christian. The Tigers entered the fourth quarter trailing by 11 before outscoring the Eagles, 17-4, in the final eight minutes for the win. Three ADM guards tallied double-digit points in the victory including a pair of 14 point performances from Koby Hardcastle and Dalton Hews. Seniors Cade Stine-Smith and Caleb Herrick tied for the team lead in rebounds with six each. Ballard enters tonight’s game off a 101-75 loss to the Norwalk Warriors on Tuesday.

Tonight’s girl’s matchup features a pair of teams looking for their first victory of the season. ADM’s latest setback came at home Tuesday against Pella Christian, 52-28, pushing their record to 0-3 on the season. Ballard is off to a 0-2 start, losing in Norwalk on Tuesday, 37-35.
