ADM Tigers

A trip to eastern Iowa provided stiff competition for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers wrestling team. The Tigers took part in the annual Grinnell Tiger Duals Saturday at Grinnell High School. ADM grappled with four dual teams from the region and returned to central Iowa on the short end of all the duals. The Tigers gave up 42 points in each competition due to forfeits.

ADM won four of their six contest weights in a 54-27 loss to East Marshall/GMG. The Tigers recorded three pinfalls, one decision victory, and one win by forfeit. Cole Williamson (106),Brodrick Schmidt (160), and Kade Sutton (220) all tallied wins by fall against the Mustangs.

ADM won all six contested weights in a 42-35 loss to the Grinnell Tigers. ADM registered three wins by fall, two major decision victories, and a decision win, and one victory by forfeit. Nolan Harsh (152), Trevor Flettre (170), and Charles Craigmile (182) won their matches by fall against Grinnell.

The Tigers won only two weight classes in a 65-10 loss to the Wilton Beavers. Andrew Flora (113) won his match against Colton Berggren by fall in 1:11. Sutton (220) was the other ADM wrestler to tally a win against Wilton, earning an 11-3 major decision over Calib Lilly. Finally, ADM recorded two pinfalls, one decision, and one win by forfeit in a 60-21 loss to the Mount Pleasant Panthers. Craigmile (182) and Sutton (220) won by fall against Mount Pleasant.

The weekend results push ADM’s dual record to 2-6 overall. The Tigers resume their season this Thursday in a Raccoon River Conference triangular against Carlisle and Winterset at Carlisle High School.
