The Academic Decathlon teams at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Perry high schools recently took part in the Regional Contest, and both enjoyed a good deal of success.

The teams competed on January 25th and 26th at Drake University and the Central Campus in Des Moines. The ADM team placed first in the small school division, while Perry came in second. ADM’s score placed them 5th among all schools in Iowa, allowing them to be one of twelve schools to advance to the State Competition in Fort Dodge in March. Unfortunately for the Perry team, they didn’t have a high enough score to advance to State.

The State Competition will be March 3rd and 4th at Iowa Central Community College. ADM made it to State last year as well, placing 4th in the small school division.
