On Saturday, several Greene County High School students competed in the Iowa High School Music Association State Solo and Ensemble Contest.
Music Director Becky Greiner says there were 42 division I ratings and 38 division II ratings received by the students. According to the Iowa High School Music Association official guidelines a division I rating is deemed a superior performance and nearly perfect in every detail.
She points out that there were three performances that were named outstanding performers and were labeled best of center. Those were the madrigal choir, saxophone trio and solo vocalist Kyle Roeder.
Each of the outstanding performers will get another chance to showcase their talents at the Outstanding Performers Recital held in May at Iowa State University.
