Perry Bluejays New Logo

At tomorrow night’s boys basketball game between Perry and Bondurant-Farrar, there will be a special presentation at halftime for the kickoff of the Dewey Complex renovation project.

Superintendent Clark Wicks will give the presentation, talking all about the estimated $3.5 million project. Phase one is expected to get started in early spring, and will include a new entryway, ticket booths, plaza, concession and restroom building, and northside bleacher expansion. In order to pay for phase one of the project, the district is beginning to fundraise in earnest. There are several donation options available, including: End Zone Legacy for those who donate $25,000; Golden Goal Sponsor for $10,000; Finish Line Sponsor for $5,000; and Yard Line Sponsor for $1,000.

Additionally, with the 1,000 Bluejays fundraiser, donors can get their name on a brick on Bluejay Way for $250, with a goal of raising $250,000. The project was kick started last year when the family of Pete VanKirk offered a $350,000 matching funds donation for the purpose of renovating the athletic complex. Another private matching funds donation of $75,000 was made recently, and the school is looking for public support to account for the rest of the project.
