April is a busy month for the Jefferson Public Library.

The month began with the 13th annual Toddler Fest at the Greene County Community Center. Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says 378 people participated with over 20 stations included. The new stations were: leaf raking, facepainting and a veterinarian area. The next Toddler Fest will be on April 19, 2019.

This past week was known as National Library Week. The Greene County Reads book discussions took place on Thursday in Grand Junction, Paton and Jefferson. Included in this year’s discussions was Bryn Greenwood, the author of the book “All the Ugly and Wonderful Things.” There was also a free teen movie at the Sierra Community Theatre of “Ready Player One” for 6th through 12th graders.

Library Director Jane Millard says they celebrate Library Week all month long.DSCN8366

“We think it’s pretty special to have a library in town and everyone is to stop in during that month. And they might even get a cookie, and there are some contests that they can enter, and this year our theme is ‘Laugh Out Loud…LOL at Your Library.’ So there might be some humorous things that they would find in the library when they come in.”

The children’s department also has search and finds with prizes awarded during the month.
