ADM Tigers

Tonight’s first Raccoon River Conference home game of the season pits the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers against one of the better squads in the league. The Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays fly into ADM Stadium this evening for their annual league match with the Tigers. ADM topped Bondurant-Farrar, 2-0, in their game last spring in Bondurant.

The ADM Tigers come into the match off a 5-0 victory over their rival the DCG Fillies Monday night in Grimes. The win is the fourth straight for the Tigers dating back to their 2-1 loss (5-4 penalty kicks) against Norwalk on April 12. The Tigers have outscored their opponents, 24-1, since the setback 15 days ago. ADM possesses a balanced scoring offense with seven players registering at least two goals this spring and four players who’ve recorded four or more. Freshman Ashlyn Watt is tied with senior Izzy LaFollette for the team lead with seven goals scored, averaging one goal scored per match. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke to Watt after Monday’s win against Dallas Center-Grimes and said she’s excited to be making an impact on this years team. She feels the futures bright for ADM girls soccer. “Having three more years (of soccer) ahead of us, we are going to keep growing,” Watt said, “With the younger girls (coming up), hopefully, they see what we’re doing and give 110 percent also.”

The Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays post a 5-4 overall record and are improving after losing their first two nonconference matches of the season. The Bluejays posts an undefeated 4-0 record inside the Raccoon River Conference with their last win coming Tuesday night at home over the Boone Toreadors, 7-0. Sophomore Emma De Costa is Iowa’s high school girls leader in goals scored with 18 in nine matches. She holds a 10 goals lead over the next highest goal scorer in the Raccoon River Conference. An important game in the Raccoon River Conference standings tonight as ADM hosts Bondurant-Farrar with the varsity match kicking off at 7 p.m. from ADM Stadium in Adel.
