Multiple Raccoon Valley Radio area golf team visited the Woodward Golf and Country Club Thursday for the annual Woodward-Granger Girls Invitational. The Lady Hawks welcomed golfers from AC/GC, ADM, Ballard, Madrid, Ogden, Panorama, and Perry to compete in their yearly 18 hole tournament. The final scores came down to tiebreaker criteria as Panorama and Ballard each finished with a team score of 425. When officials checked each team’s fifth-place golfer, Panorama came out victorious with a lower score of 110 compared to Ballard’s score of 125.

The Raccoon Valley Radio Network caught up with Panorama girls golf coach Melissa Hochstetler after the match and said she believed from the car ride up to Woodward that the team had a chance to win. “It started when we loaded into the suburban to come here,” Hochstetler said, “I looked at the girls and said, ‘we’re as good as any team that going to be here, so you guys just go out and play your game and you got it.'”

All six Panorama golfers were within 10 strokes of one another with no one shooting worse than 113 strokes. Abby Cobb secured the Panthers victory as the team’s fifth lowest score of 110. Panorama’s four scoring golfers includes Madi Fear (103), Lauren McClatchey (106), Jordan Douglass (108), and Anna Duis (108). The ADM Tigers finishes in third place with 437 strokes. Highlighting the Tigers scorecard was senior Emily Neumann with a 103. The AC/GC Chargers took sixth place as a team at 494 strokes. Senior Haley Sheeder shot the Chargers lowest round at 101. Perry didn’t qualify for a team score but did have Alyssa Kruger finish second in the individual standings with a 91.
