It probably seemed like spring was never going to arrive. But now that it has and grass is once again starting to grow, the City of Perry reminds residents of the grass and weed ordinance.
According to the ordinance, grass, weeds, and brush shall be cut, mowed, and maintained as to not exceed eight inches in residential, business, and industrial areas, and 15 inches in agricultural areas. Any property within City limits, whether vacated or not, with grass, weeds, or brush over those limits on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, will be mowed by the City and charged a fee. If payment isn’t received, the mowing costs will be assessed to the property. The ordinance will remain in effect from May through October.
Anyone with questions is encouraged to reach out to Perry City Hall at 515-465-2481.
