Friday, May 4th
9:36am: An officer served two subjects with a “Nuisance Abatement.” The issue is located at 203 South Olive Street.
9:40am: Linda Spearman reported receiving a Scam Phone Call. The caller advised her she would be arrested by local police if she did not pay a sum of money to them. Spearman did not incur a loss.
10:40am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call at Grimmell Road and West South Street.
1:35pm: An officer assisted in lifting an elderly female who had fallen in the 600 Block of South Cedar Street.
1:40pm: The Middle School reported a dog running loose near the 200 Block of West Harrison Street. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.
2:03pm: An officer and deputies arrested Robert Fry, 54 of Jefferson, at 202 South High Street. Fry had an Active Arrest Warrant for, “Probation Violation.”
5:34pm: Jesse Akers reported a Careless Driver on Hwy. 4 heading into Jefferson from the south. The officer did not locate the vehicle.
9:43pm: Kathy Goodrich reported an audible alarm sounding at the Post Office at 106 West Harrison Street. The officer found the building to be secured and contacted a Key Holder.
11:15pm: An officer located an Open Door at 407 East Central Ave.
Saturday, May 5th
12:18am: Tollef Sorenson reported smoke in the area of Cedar and Adams Streets. The officer located a recreational fire had just been put out in the area causing the smoke.
3:32am: An officer was called to 1310 Westwood Drive, Unit 9, for a reported female kicking in the apartment door. The officer arrived and made contact with the female. She advised she was driving by her ex-boyfriend’s residence and noticed a female’s car parked there. She wanted to get her child from the residence, but he would not open the door and give her the child. The officer’s investigation led the arrest of Michelle Nicole Howard, 23 of Boxholm for, “Burglary 2nd Degree – Class C Felony, OWI 1st Offense – Serious, and Possession of Controlled Substance – Serious.”
9:21am: A Traffic Stop in the 1600 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Ryan Murphy of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
10:58am: Robert Dolan spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Property Issue with a vehicle occurring at 300 East Washington Street.
12:00pm: Caller advised of hearing gun shots near the Daubendiek Walking park at Grimmell an Russell. The officer located subjects shooting at targets, just outside of the city limits on South Grimmell Road.
1:20pm: Rhonda Davis spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Property Issue occurring at 702 North Cedar Street.
8:59pm: A caller advised of a subject sitting on the side of 220th Street, just west of M Ave. The officer checked on the female, who was fine and walking to Idaho.
11:09pm: A Traffic Stop was conducted with a speeding vehicle on Elm Street near 250th Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Michael Edward Dennhardt, 49 of Rippey for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious and Excessive Speed.” Heather Dennhardt of Rippey was cited for, “Open Container – Passenger.”
Sunday, May 6th
1:14am: Julie Byerly reported a suspicious vehicle in the area of Mahlon and Walnut. The officer did not locate the vehicle.
3:12am: A caller advised that a possible No Contact Violation was occurring at 304 North Chestnut Street. The officer determined it was false information.
8:50am: A Traffic Stop was performed in the 1500 Block of North Elm Street, resulting in Matthew Brown of Fort Dodge being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
9:57am: Julie Graven called and advised her floor drain was backing up at 1102 McDuffie Drive. She was advised to contact a plumber.
10:16am: An officer located an Oil Spill at Elm and 220th Street. The Jefferson Fire Department arrived and cleaned up the substance.
1:10pm: The Spare Times Lanes reported an Attempted Burglary at 118 South Chestnut Street. Someone attempted to gain entry through a back door, but did not gain entry.
3:13pm: Curt Hasting reported a subject was blowing grass clippings into the alley at 404 North Vine Street. The officer spoke to the tenant, who cleaned up the clippings.
6:33pm: A caller advised of a subject walking through private property in the 500 Block of Stanford Street. The officer spoke to the subject and advised him to stay of the property in the future.
7:32pm: Christine McCool advised she was helping a friend clean out her storage unit and they located possible stolen property. The officer could not locate any reports on the item being stolen in Jefferson.
10:17pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of West Washington Street.
Monday, May 7th
5:43am: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the 600 Block of South Vine Street. A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, owned and operated by Dennis Smalley of Jefferson, struck a parked vehicle while backing from a private drive. The 2015 Ford Focus was legally parked on the street and is owned by Christina Vankeuren of Arkansas. The Smalley vehicle had a reported $250.00 in damages, while the Vankeuren vehicle suffered a reported $3500.00 in damages. Smalley was issued a citation for, “Unsafe Backing Upon a Highway.”
7:53am: Amanda Davis reported a couple arguing on the street near, 106 West Washington Street. The officer was not able to locate the reported subjects.
8:42am: An officer assisted a motorist with mechanical trouble at Westwood and Lincoln Way.
9:58am: Tim Cadden spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Issue occurring at 621 South Cedar Street.
6:10pm: Rick Comer spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Property Issue occurring at 102 East Washington Street.
6:34pm: A deputy requested an officer to search for a vehicle believed to be heading to Jefferson from Grand Junction. The officer did not locate the vehicle.
7:05pm: An officer is investigating a Backing Accident, which occurred at 777 Wild Rose Lane. A 2016 Buick Enclave, owned by Joyce Davis of Jamaica received slight rear end damage while parked at the casino. The officer is working to determine the other vehicle involved, which had left the scene. Damage to the Davis vehicle was estimated at $100.00.
8:35pm: An officer checked on two 911 Hang Up Calls that mapped near Park and chestnut Streets. The officer did not locate anyone in the area needing assistance.
******** Test results are back on items seized during a Traffic Stop on April 23, 2018, at Hwy. 4 and 220th Street. The office has requested an Arrest Warrant for Priest Delray Wilson, 38 of Fort Dodge for, “Possession of Controlled Substance/marijuana 3rd or Subsequent Offense – D Felony.”
