Jefferson’s Spring Into Greene saw warmer temperatures and sunshine which drew several people out to enjoy all the festivities and events.
There were organizations from Greene County Extension and 4-H to Cub Scouts to PAWS showing what they had to offer for spring and summer programs and fundraisers. The free showing of The Croods was a crowd pleaser at the Sierra Theatre drawing several people.
Committee Chair John Brunow was delighted with both the turnout and mother nature.
“We’ve had good participation especially the informational sessions have had lots of people in those. We had 181 people at the free movie that the nice folks from the Naked Ladies Garden Club over in Grand Junction sponsored. We’ve had a good flow of people in the vendor area. I am just tickled and thrilled with our participation today. It’s a wonderful day to be in Greene County.”
The Master Gardeners spoke about spring projects like raised garden beds and gave tips about flowers that do well in drought conditions.
With so much going on during Spring Into Greene, people and participants were very thankful of the decent weather and being able to be outdoors.
