The West Central Valley Wildcat baseball team suffered their first loss of the season Thursday in Urbandale. The Des Moines Christian Lions bested the Wildcats on the diamond, 9-5. The Lions scored two runs in the second, three each in the fourth and fifth inning, and one more in the sixth. West Central Valley recorded one run in the third, one run in the fourth two runs in the fifth and one run in the sixth. Freshman Evan Taylor scored a pair of runs for West Central Valley, reaching base safely in three of four plate appearances. The Wildcats record sits at 2-1 overall. West Central Valley returns to the diamond tonight in Dayton against Southeast Valley.
