At the most recent East Greene School Board meeting, the Board took open bids for school supplies and equipment of the Rippey Elementary building.
Superintendent Mike Harter says they raised $6,213 which will be put into the general fund. He states that they had equipment from classes that were no longer offered at that building. Some of the items sold were a $1,500 for a hood over a stove unit, $50 for a storage shed, $505 for a band saw and several other items.
Since both East Greene and Jefferson-Scranton will combine to form one school district beginning July 2014, Harter notes that they spoke with Jefferson-Scranton School District to make sure they didn’t need any equipment before opening it to the public.
Harter points out that they will probably have one more sealed auction and a garage sale to get rid of the remaining items later on this year.
