iowa-dot-gis (1)A state highway patching project will begin soon in Guthrie County. The seven-mile stretch of Highway 44 between Panora and Guthrie Center will be patched starting sometime around August 1st.

Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) District 4 Planner Scott Suhr tells Raccoon Valley Radio the project will take anywhere from 30-60 working days to complete. Though he says it will likely be closer to the 30 day mark. He cautions drivers during the late stages of summer to plan ahead and allow for extra time to get to desired destinations. He also says there will be pilot cars and additional traffic signals to direct motorists during the project.
