The parking lot of Lincoln Savings Bank in Adel was packed Monday evening as they hosted Miss Rodeo Iowa 2018 — Adel native Jenna Kool — for what they called “A Very Kool Event.”

The bank has been one of Kool’s primary sponsors for her travels across the country this year, and she was honored they wanted to take it one step further and throw her a kind of “welcome home” party. Kool says it’s always great to be back in her hometown, mostly to see her dog, but also to see all the people who have thrown their complete support behind her. Those people showed up in droves for the event, and partook in the free festivities which included a meal, horseback rides, and a concert by The New Mexicos.

Kool has been across the nation at various rodeos since the beginning of January, and something she’s noticed at each stop the last eight months has been how each city gets behind their event. “Each rodeo and each place I go is so special, but I think my favorite thing out of all of them is just the community that surrounds those rodeos. It is so special to each town I go to, and you really see the community pull together. Just like I know Adel is such a strong town and other towns are just like it.”
