The high school track & field regular season has ended and coed State Qualifying Meets are scheduled for Thursday in all four classes. Wet, cooler, and windy weather could greet athletes tomorrow, but that would be nothing new. Veteran track & field observers are calling this season one of the worst for weather. Cold, wet, windy conditions have been the norm this Spring, capped by several inches of snow on May 2. The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union have set Friday as a makeup date in case Thursdays meets cannot be held or completed.
Greene County High School goes to Nevada for a Class 3A State Qualifying meet while Perry and ADM travel to Winterset. Ogden is hosting a 2A meet while Guthrie Center and Van Meter are host sites in Class 1A.
