Today is Labor Day, which means several public offices around Dallas County are closed for the day.

In Perry, the City Hall, Water Works Office, McCreary Community Building, and public library will be closed in observance of the holiday. Also, the City Council will meet tomorrow instead of tonight. Garbage routes will also be altered, with those scheduled for today getting picked up tomorrow, and tomorrow’s will be picked up Wednesday. That also means there will be no yard waste pickup Wednesday, and the next date for that is September 12th for residents north of Willis Avenue.

In Adel, the City Hall, public library, and all other City offices will be closed today. Garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections will each be delayed by one day this week. Additionally, all Dallas County offices will be closed, including the Driver’s License Station and Department of Motor Vehicles. Finally, all banking institutions and post offices will be closed for Labor Day and will reopen tomorrow.
