The return to the field rendered another close district loss Friday night for the Panorama Panthers varsity football team. The Panthers couldn’t spoil the homecoming celebration at Mount Ayr Community Schools as the Raiders topped Panorama, 21-13. Panorama sophomore quarterback Alejandro Mendez threw a pair of long touchdown passes in the setback, a 29-yard strike to senior Gracen Welburg in the second quarter and a 51-yard bomb to junior Luke South in the third quarter. The setback evens Panorama’s overall record at 3-3. The Panthers resume their season in Dallas County next Friday in a road contest versus No. 1 Van Meter.
