The Greene County High School football team continues to prepare for the opening round Class 2A football playoff game on Friday night in Van Horne vs. Benton Community. Both teams are 8-1 and both are top 10 rated. The playoff game is the first in five years for the Rams, while this is the third time in the last five seasons the Bobcats have made the postseason.
Mitch Moore is head coach of the Rams. He talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the development of the team during the season and what he saw from the players prior to last Friday’s showdown with OABCIG (Ida Grove) to end the regular season. “It was really interesting prior to the week nine game. Just the excitement and the feeling of ‘I hope’ was gone. They knew, they believed, they understood they were a good football team. I said this all year that confidence comes in preparation. We’ve prepared every week to put ourselves in situations to play good football games on Friday night and I couldn’t be more proud of our kids.”
The Rams and Bobcats tee it up from Van Horne at 7 p.m. Friday with coverage at 6 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
