Panorama Panthers PictureThe 2013-14 school year is off to a great start at Panorama Elementary School.

School Improvement Coordinator Mary Breyfogle says the new student pick-up and drop-off procedure has been implemented without problems.  The school has decided to close it’s circle drive from 7:30 am to 4 pm each day  to ensure greater child safety.

A local Veterans of Foreign Wars group participated in the flag raising ceremony on Tuesday morning to kick-off the new year.  Members spoke to students about the importance of our country’s flag and what it stands for.

Breyfogle says staff has also begun using its PBIS initiative, which stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Supports.  The system is designed to teach students appropriate behavior and expectations by catching them doing things the right way, so that staff can reinforce positivity.

Students will be practicing the routines of appropriate behavior in different common areas throughout the school until the end of this week.
