It’s an old football adage that says a team’s foundation is built in the trenches.

The offensive and defensive lines allow for skill players to make plays elsewhere on the field, and ADM head coach Mike Whisner says both units must improve if the Tigers want to bounce back against Winterset tomorrow night.

The defensive line mostly just needs to get healthy.  3-year starter Isaac Norton is currently awaiting clearance from doctors after off-season arthroscopic knee surgery.  Once he returns, Whisner feels his defense will be much stronger against the run.  ADM allowed allowed 243 yards on the ground last week against DC-G.  ADM

As for the offensive line, Whisner feels his unit has to mesh better as a collective unit.

“We need to be more sound working as a group.  There’s your one starter, two starters–the guys that played a little bit last year–working with the other three and the subs that come in on picking up blitzes and that kind of thing.  We had some pressure even though we had a pretty decent night throwing the ball, we had a lot of pressure.”

See if ADM’s lines can bounce back tomorrow night, as they taken on another rival, the Winterset Huskies.  We’ll have coverage starting at 7 o’clock on 107.9 FM, KKRF.
