Carlisle swept the season series from both Perry basketball teams Thursday night for the 3rd straight year as the Wildcat girls defeated Perry 55-21 while the boys upended the Bluejays 83-38.
The Jayettes came out flat from the get go as they fell behind 16-4 after the first quarter. Double digit turnovers in the opening eight minutes along with second chance opportunities allowed Carlisle to open up a large lead despite not shooting the ball especially well. The Cats led 31-6 at halftime. Molly Lutmer led Perry with 12 points. The Jayettes dropped their 12th straight game and will look for their first conference win next Tuesday.
The Perry boys played with early energy but a 7 minute scoring drought proved costly as Carlisle went on a 15-0 run early in the second quarter to erase a one point deficit and take a 34-20 halftime lead. The Raccoon River Conference top scorer Kollin Lister took over from there scoring 16 of his 35 points in the 3rd quarter alone.
Brendan Ivory led Perry in scoring for the fourth straight game putting up 16 points.
Perry remains winless in conference play and will host unbeaten Carroll next Tuesday.
