An update on the recount of the Panorama School Board election in District 4.

The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met yesterday morning and granted the order that a voting recount be tallied for the disrict.

A request for a recount was filed with County Auditor Jerri Christman on Monday by John Stetzel, who according to the original vote, lost the District 4 election by a single vote.

The District 4 election was the closest School Board vote across all of Guthrie County during the elections last week.  Shari Clark received 58 votes to win the District 4 seat, while Stetzel finished with 57 votes.

The Board of Supervisors are currently awaiting a designee to be sent forth by Shari Clark to participate in the recount.  A recount will not take place until a designee is assigned.

County Auditor Jerri Christman says the recount process must be completed within 18 days of the original canvassing of votes.  The Supervisors canvassed the election votes last Friday.
