Recent arctic weather coupled with postseason winter sports activities has overshadowed the start of the preseason practice period for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity track and field squads. February 11 marked the first practice of the season for both ADM Track and Field squads but this week is the first time each team is at full strength due to the conclusion of the boys’ basketball season last Thursday in Gilbert. The ADM boys track and field team is under the direction of first-year head coach Jesse Hunt. Hunt’s resume includes 10 years coaching varsity girls track and field at Waukee Community Schools. The Lady Warriors won the Class 4A State Championship in 2009, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, and 2018 under his tutelage. Bart Mueller returns to lead the ADM girls track and field team this spring. The debut of the 2019 ADM Track and Field season starts next Tuesday, March 5, at the Dickinson Relays at the University of Northern Iowa campus in Cedar Falls.
