A Stuart man has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to a first-degree theft charge in Dallas County.

Court records show that 30-year-old Bradley Leroy Stodden withdrew his plea of not guilty and filed a guilty plea to first-degree theft for stealing items during his employment at Wright Outdoor Solutions in West Des Moines. A search warrant was executed last November after he quit his job, and a total of $42,263.33 in stolen property was found at his residence. A 10-year prison sentence has been suspended and Stodden has been ordered to three years of probation. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation by March 31st. Restitution and fees have been suspended.
