The ACGC track and field and boys golf teams are in action today with spots in the next round of competition on the line.

Both track and field teams were scheduled to compete in the Class 2A Section 5 State Qualifying meet at Panorama yesterday. However, both the IAHSAA and IGHSAU postponed all meets to this afternoon due to weather. In addition to the Chargers, Panthers, and West Central Valley Wildcats, participating schools in the Panorama state qualifier include: Greene County, Southeast Valley, Mount Ayr, Red Oak, Interstate 35, Van Meter, Shenandoah, Ogden, and Clarinda. Based on current best times, four boys and six girls entries would receive automatic qualifications to next week’s state meet at Drake.

The boys golf team will be competing in Panora as well for the Panorama sectional. In addition to the Chargers, Panthers, and Wildcats, the field includes: AHSTW, Kuemper Catholic, Nodaway Valley, Ogden, and Van Meter. Senior McKlain Jorgensen leads all Chargers in adjusted average with 52.50.
