John Boss’ West Central Valley Boys’ Soccer team has had a roller coaster ride of a season through the spring. The Wildcats have been plagued by inconsistent, almost “Jeckel and Hyde” performances. Some games looking like a State Tournament bound club, and others just not.
When you look at the results of their games, roller coaster is really the only appropriate term; lose 3, win 4, lose 5, win 3.
However, in order to keep playing, the roller coaster must end, and West Central Valley needs to keep playing at full potential. The Wildcats drew a tough first round game at North Polk, but if WCV can pull off the upset, suddenly the road looks much more favorable. Boss has been encouraging his team to look forward to the challenge with North Polk, perhaps pull off the upset, and then move on to teams that they’ve already played this season and feel confident against.
The Wildcats will open District Postseason play on Monday night at North Polk.
