The Greene County Farmers Market kicks off for the season tomorrow.
Co-organizer Chris Henning says the farmers market will be every Tuesday from June 4th through September 24th from 4 to 6:30pm on the east side of the Greene County Courthouse. There will also be meals provided by local groups each week, and Henning points out there are five dates left to be filled for the season. Interested organizations can use the meals as a fundraising opportunity.
While there are already a few vendors to start the season, Henning welcomes anyone to be a vendor. You have to have locally grown produce or flowers, baked goods, or handmade crafts, to be considered for the market. Daily vendor fees are $20, or $30 for those needing to use their vehicles, and a seasonal pass is $120, or $150 with a vehicle. Plus, Henning is still looking for a daily market manager, which is also a paid position.
