The West Central Valley Lady Wildcats were led by freshmen Emily Goodner in Tuesday nights district game against Panorama, helping the Lady Wildcats advance to the next round winning three sets to two. Similar to a match earlier in the year between the two schools, it was a back and forth exciting game between the two Guthrie County rivals. Goodner was excellent in the game, as she tallied 20 kills, 22 digs, and 3 aces as well. The freshmen stepped up big time in the fourth and fifth set, as the season hung in the balance.
The Lady Wildcats as a team put up 109 digs during the five sets of play, showing tremendous defense on the backline. Six players had 10 or more digs during the match, and 3 had 20+ with Goodner, Grace Hammond, and Meredith Marks. Maria Pruitt led the Lady Wildcats in assists with 32.
West Central Valley will be continuing their season next Monday when they travel to Earlham to take on the Lady Cardinals.
