City Council and Mayoral elections will be held throughout Guthrie County tomorrow and we have an update on the candidates for the open seats in Guthrie Center, Panora and Stuart.
Denny Kunkle is running unopposed to retain his mayoral seat in Guthrie Center, but there are five candidates vying for just two open City Council seats. Those candidates are incumbent Dennis Patrick, Randy Nickel, Ruth Newell and announced write-in entrants Troy Christensen and Garold Thomas. Guthrie Center residents will vote at the Mary Barnett Library.
Over in Panora, incumbent Mike Moore, Mary Smith and Shannon Barber are the only candidates running for the three open City Council seats. Panora city election voting is at Vet’s Auditorium.
And in Stuart, Mayor Dick Cook is running unopposed to retain his seat. Three incumbents Bryan Belden, Neal Crawford and Matt Funk are the only candidates running for their open seats. Stuart voting will take place at the Rec Center.
Voting booths will open at noon tomorrow in all three towns. Polls will close at 8pm.
