Greene Co. SupervisorsThe Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.

The Supervisors approved amending the October 21st meeting when the motions for the parcels of land by Bauer Built Manufacturing were switched around to read exactly what was decided upon during that meeting to reflect the decision of reclassifying the zoning of land.

The Board also approved extending the Hazard Mitigation Plan from the end of October of 2013 to February 28, 2014.

Sandy Scheuermann gave an update to the Board about the county’s possibly options for health insurance when renewals come up at the end of the year.

She said that since First Administrators is going to be closing down at the end of the year, she said if the county does nothing as far as changing carriers away from Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, then it would be a 9% increase of expected cost which would raise the monthly current fixed cost from $29,005 to $31,085.   The current expected cost for the year would go from $1,122,029 to $1,224,962.  If they went with United Healthcare it would be $1,038,829.

The other option is to go with United Healthcare, but the opinion of the insurance agents was that they’ve had negative feedback from dealing with them before in the past and recommended staying with Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield with their new administrator being Wage Works.

The Supervisors did not take action on this issue.  They have until the last two weeks of the year to decide.
