Three women were taken to the hospital after an unusual accident southwest of Perry this weekend.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Diane Bindel of Perry was heading south on H Avenue around 12:30pm Saturday.  Reports show Bindel’s vehicle was traveling approximately 2 feet in the northbound lane when she stuck another vehicle, driven by Rebecca Towers of Churdan, head on.

Towers and her passenger, Eileen Splendore of Perry – the daughter in-law of Diane Bindel, were transported to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines via Mercy One helicopter.  Bindel was also taken to Mercy via Dallas County EMS.

According to family members, all three women sustained non-life threatening injuries.  Two of them have undergone surgery and all are in the process of recovery.
