The high school Winter sports postseason begins today with wrestling Sectional tournaments throughout the state for Class 1A and 2A programs. Coach Zach Beekman’s wrestling Rams go to Adel for 2A Sectional 3 competition with ADM, Atlantic, Creston/Orient-Macksburg, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll), Panorama, and Winterset. The top two finishers in each weight class advance to District competition in Atlantic on Feb. 15 and the first and second place teams move on to a Feb. 11 Regional dual meet.

The Rams are led by freshman McKinley Robbins at 106 lbs. He is ranked number two with a 30-1 record and 26-match winning streak. His only loss came to the number one ranked wrestler in 2A on the first weekend of the season.

Some of the other top records on the team belong to Brenner Gallagher (113), Braden Gallagher (120), Brady Stauffer (138), Nathan Black (145), Will Hansen (160), and Sawyer Schiltz (220).
