As the new year continues to progress, the Greene County Veterans Affairs Director reminds area veterans to seek out help with benefits.
Director Mike Bierl continues to work with area veterans on a number of different issues, including resources to help those who served in the armed forces receive benefits.
“We also can look into things like the G.I. Bill (and) V.A. Home Loans, also some Iowa benefits available that are in particular to the state of Iowa. As far as if you are buying a new home, there’s a grant out there and other benefits unique to Iowa.”
Bierl reminds veterans to bring their DD214 military separation papers and any documentation of where they served. You can contact Bierl at 515-386-5673 or through email at mbierl@co.greene.ia.us.
