There were many great moments for the spectacular Panorama winter sports programs, our number one moment took place in the boys basketball district championship game.

The Panthers made the trip to Harlan to play Kuemper Catholic for the District 15 crown. Both teams came out of the gates reading each other out. The Knights led by two after the first quarter. Panorama then closed the gap to take a 36-36 stalemate into halftime. The Panthers went on an 8-2 run to take control of the game. Shortly after, two of Kuemper Catholic’s leading scorer found themselves with four fouls and had to sit for a long stretch to avoid fouling out. Panorama was able to build on that lead and keep Kuemper Catholic at bay. Great free throw shooting from the Panthers put the game on ice late in the fourth quarter and went on to win 82-70.

Panorama would go on to lose in the sub-state game and concluded their season with a 17-7 record. The Panthers will lose seniors Malachi Peasley, Kolby Shackelford, Michael Allen, and Wil Jones. While they’ll miss this graduating class, they do bring back a solid  senior class next year led by Evan Taylor and Zach Rizutti.
