Jefferson’s Development Director Alana Curnyn says Genesis Development received its highest accreditation award from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International in Tucson, Arizona.

Genesis Development received accreditation for Services Coordination; Supported Living Services; Community Employment Services – Employment Supports, Job Development, and Employment Planning; Organizational Employment Services (work centers); Community Housing (group homes); Community Integration (Discovery programs); Mental Health (adults, children, adolescents) – Assessment & Referral, Crisis Intervention, and Outpatient Treatment; and Governance Standards Applied.

Curnyn comments that this is the 11th-consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded to Genesis.

Curnyn states that they had to undergo rigorous peer review at all of the Genesis locations which include Jefferson, Boone, Storm Lake, Winterset, Indianola, Belle Plaine, Toledo, Perry, Adel, Cedar Rapids, and Grinnell.  During a 3-day, on-site visit, she adds that they had to demonstrate to a review committee that their services were of the highest quality, measurable and accountable.
