Dallas County ISU Extension and Outreach is offering a program to a limited amount of local families, which they hope will uplift people’s spirits during this stressful time.
Free Extension care packages are available to Dallas County residents while supplies last, and include items such as coloring sheets for kids, recipe cards for adults, and other fun bonus items for the whole family. The packages are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be requested by sending a message that includes your name and address through the Dallas County Extension Facebook page. The items will then be mailed directly to you, and staff is hopeful it will brighten your day. Extension acknowledges there is a lot of uncertainty in the world right now, with the ongoing threat of COVID-19 now combined with civil unrest following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The care packages are their way of bringing some light back into the world, while also giving tips on proper nutrition and family activities.
