The Dallas County Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday morning.

One of the first matters of business involved a six-figure payment. The Supervisors approved the third payment in the amount of $110,297.43 to the Lejas Corporation for the Dallas County Courthouse Courtroom project. Following that, a proposal to conduct a space study for the courtrooms was held. No action was taken and there will be more review of a possible study.

A public hearing was then held regarding rezoning 70 acres of land just north of Van Meter. The land up for discussion is two parcels that are currently zoned for agriculture. After the hearing and discussion, the supervisors approved a resolution to rezone the land to suburban estate for housing development. The resolution did include a note that the divisions may not be subdivided any more.

Other items approved include transfer of operating funds to the law enforcement center project, building inspections contract, and a purchase of solar blinds for the facility at 818 Court Street.
