The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors opened bids for a bridge replacement project at their meeting Tuesday.
Two bids were submitted for the project to replace two bridges in Orange Township and one in Union Township with culverts, estimated at $50,000. The first bid opened was from Benner Trucking and Dosing at about $22,278, and the second was from Iowa Trenchless with $92,365. The Board plans to award a bid next week.
The Supervisors also approved payroll change notices for Ed Lowe as a new seasonal labor employee for the Conservation Department, and Connor Faust as a motor grader operator for the Casey shed. The Board also discussed promoting Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management laborer Tim Masters to Weed Commissioner, following Steve Stringham’s resignation. The County would then advertise for the IRVM position. Finally, the Board went into closed session for an evaluation of Human Resources Director Pam Lane.
