In the game of volleyball, you have to have players with the ability to go to the ground and grab digs in order to have a good defense. For the West Central Valley volleyball team, they will be looking to improve upon a 2019 team that got better on the defensive side of the volleyball as the season went along.
Sophomore Emily Goodner did a great job last year as a freshman in this category, leading the team in digs with 234 on the season. Sophomore Isabella Munoz and Junior Grace Hammond also did a great job on the defensive side of the volleyball last year, with Munoz tallying 158 digs on the year and Hammond with 148. All three of these players were scrappy and ready to read the attacks last year, which helped them all post high marks.
All of these players and the rest of this Wildcat team will have to be aggressive this year on the defensive side of the volleyball, but they do have good athletes and believe that defense will earn wins for the 2020 season.
