
Friday, August 14th
7:47am: Amy Purdie requested an officer to remove a bat from 304 West State Street. The officer was unable to locate the bat.
9:30am: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 400 Edgewood.
10:39am: HyVee reported a male standing outside the business at 106 West Washington Street with a baseball bat on his side. The officers made contact with the male, who was waiting for a ride.
11:45am: Amy Baugh reported a female Trespassing at 301 ½ East Lincoln Way Street. The officer is investigating the report.
3:47pm: A Traffic Stop near 220th Street and M Ave. resulted in the arrest of Marlene Eleanor Anderson, 50 of Jefferson for, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated.” Anderson was also cited for, “Fail to Give Notice of Address Change, Fail to Carry Registration Card, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Fail to Display Registration Plate.”
4:46pm: Esther Smith requested a Welfare Check on a male in the 600 Block of South Vine Street, who she had been unable to contact since the storm. The officer made contact with the subject, who was fine.
5:27pm: St. Anthony’s Hospital in Carroll requested a Welfare Check on a male in the 600 Block of West Washington Street after speaking to him on the “Crisis Line.” The officer made contact with the male and subsequently took him to ER for an evaluation by a medical doctor.
6:33pm: ER requested an officer as the male in the previous entry was wanting to leave the facility. The officer assisted ER Staff in calming to male back down.
7:04pm: Vickie Tronchetti requested a Welfare Check on a male at 1216 Westwood Drive. The officer made contact with the subject, who was fine.
6:58pm: A Traffic Stop in the 600 Block of Hwy. 30 East resulted in Justin Michael Cosnotti of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License.”
7:22pm: A caller advised of three dogs being allowed to run free again near Pinet and Adams Streets. The officer issued Birton Davis a citation for, “Animal at Large Prohibited.”
9:37pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1400 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Brady Jones of Milford being cited for, “Dark Windows.”
11:09pm: The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office requested a Welfare Check on an infant in the 300 Block of North Wilson Avenue, as reports advise the mother is not fit to care for the infant. The officer made contact with the mother and learned the infant was with a family member in Mason City. The officer passed the info. back to Guthrie County.
11:42pm: An officer was requested at 501 South Vine Street to remove a bat from the residence. The bat could not be located by the officer when he arrived.
Saturday, August 15th
3:02am: An officer located an Open Door at 204 North Grimmell Road and secured the building.
3:25am: An officer located an Open Overhead Door at 412 West McKinley Street. The officer secured the door after checking inside the building.
3:40am: An officer notified a key holder after locating an Open Door at 701 West Wall Street.
4:00am: An officer removed a tree branch from the roadway in the 1100 Block of North Elm Street.
9:13am: Calhoun County requested assistance in locating a Jefferson resident in regard to an Abandoned Vehicle in their county. The officer made contact with the subject, who advised they had sold the vehicle months earlier. The info. was passed back to Calhoun County.
9:16am: George Crouch reported a stray dog near 207 East Perry Street. The officer did not locate the animal.
2:40pm: A Traffic Stop at 220 th Street and M Avenue resulted in Ethan Rummell of Carroll being cited for, “Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License.”
3:52pm: Janice Napolitano reported a female walking out in front of oncoming traffic near Elm and Washington Streets, nearly getting struck by a vehicle. The officer did not locate the reported subject.
6:33pm: A Traffic Stop at Westwood and Rushridge resulted in Jerimiah Geisler of Scranton being cited for, “Dark Windows.”
7:32pm: Kirsten Roberts reported her neighbor’s dogs were out in the 300 Block of West Sunset Road. No one was home at the residence. The officer repaired a hole in the fence and placed the dogs back in the fenced area.
Sunday, August 16th
1:09am: Patrick Coli requested a Welfare Check on a female at 1201 West Lincoln Way Street. Coil had received numerous text messages from the female which were suicidal in nature. The officer travelled to the address and after numerous attempts to get a response from the female by knocking, ringing doorbells and phone call attempts, the officer forced entry to the residence. He was met by the female who advised she was asleep and denied sending the messages to Coil. Coil later provided the messages to the officer from his phone. The officer did not feel the female was a threat to herself.
2:10am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of Garfield Street.
5:08am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop with a vehicle travelling 80 mph near 220th and Doreen Wilbur Drive. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Jaime Coronado, 19 of Jefferson for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious, Possession of Alcohol Under Legal Age – Simple, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Excessive Speed.”
5:48am: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 303 East Park Street.
7:29am: An officer responded to a Burglary Alarm Activation at 508 North Elm Street. The officer located an employee inside the residence, who had accidentally tripped the alarm.
3:14pm: An officer was requested to remove a bat from the residence at 1204 Southfield Drive. The bat could not be located.
4:00pm: Steven Bailey reported an adult male was at 106 West Washington Street with his juvenile niece. He reported the male is a Sex Offender and can not be around children under 14. The officer made contact with the male and the juvenile at the business. The child was sent home with Bailey. The officer cited Zachary McBride of Fort Dodge for, “Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License” and is investigating the Sex Offender Violation.
4:48pm: A landlord requested Extra Patrol near his rental in the 300 Block of South Grimmell Road after he had excited the tenant.
7:33pm: An officer assisted parties with a Civil Property Exchange at 1401 North Elm Street.
10:06pm: The Wild Rose Casino requested an officer for a Trespass at 777 Wild Rose Lane. A patron had entered the casino and they learned he had previously signed a document banning himself from gambling in Iowa. The patron left on his own before the officer’s arrival.
11:41pm: An officer located and secured an Open Door at 600 East Lincoln Way Street.
