For the first time this season, cross-country runners from Greene County High School have a week with two meets. Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s Rams ran on Monday at State Center in the West Marshall Coed Meet, and they’ll run today at Story City’s River Bend Golf Course for the Roland-Story Norsemen Invitational. The Rams were first on the boys’ side and sixth among girls’ teams at WM.
It’s been a while since the Rams won a boys’ cross-country meet. Logan Woodruff was second and Luis Velazco third, and that high of a one-two finish also hasn’t been commonplace in recent seasons.
There are 14 schools of girls and boys teams scheduled to run at the R-S meet. Races include both middle school and high school competitors.
