basketball thru hoopThe ADM girls basketball team has today off before the Tigers are back on the hardwood for practice tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s practice will come after a full week off for head coach Brett Watson’s club, but he’s not worried about the extended time off he’s given them in the middle of the season.

“I’m not too concerned about it because I think about every other team in the state is going through the same thing too, so we’re all basically in the same boat.  I talked to them in the locker room, asked them to make sure they get off their feet a little bit so that our conditioning doesn’t totally bottom out, but I think it’s nice they get to spend some time with their family and get away from the game a little bit.  Once we get back on the practice floor, we’ll get after it again.”

Referring back to last Friday’s win over Ballard, Coach Watson discusses in specificity what his team will be working over the next week when they get back to business tomorrow.

“I’d like to see us take care of the ball.  We had a lot of unforced errors, turnovers and some silly mistakes that we need to clean up.  And I think we still can get better on the defensive end.  So if we can just keep shoring up some of those things… they’re kind of just little things but those little things are what make the difference in big games and close games like we saw (last) Friday.”

Speaking of big games, there is another big one on the slate next up for ADM.  The Tigers battle ranked DC-G for the second time this season at the end of next week.
