If you’ve ever thought about becoming a Master Gardener, 2014 might be your year and you can start right away.

The Dallas County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach office is offering program training starting next month.

In total, the course is 40 hours of web-based and face-to-face local training, along with a full day training session on the Iowa State campus.

The course starts January 16^th in Adel.  It will cover a variety of different aspects of gardening including soil and weed management and tips for growing different types of plants.

Upon completion of the training, Master Gardeners are expected to share their time and knowledge with others in their local communities and complete an internship including 40 hours of approved volunteer service projects.

The fee for the course is $195 and the registration deadline has been extended until January 10^th.
